Hanmer Camp Highlights

Last week from Wednesday to Friday we stayed at a wilderness lodge in hanmer springs.  hanmer spring is a alpine village 2 hours away from our home town Greymouth.  on our trip we did some fun activity such as tree climbing, mountain biking, orienteering.  My favourite activity was mountain biking, we took an hour and a half tour through the bush it was extremely fun.  the hardest activity was tree climbing getting up the tree was really easy but then when you try to get down it was quite scary because you have to let go and lean back but after a few tries it gets easier and easier.  orienteering was fun as you get a map and you go into the bush and find markers when you find a marker you write down the letters/numbers on the marker and with a time limit you find as many as possible then get back to the starting point on time.  I enjoyed this camp because it was very fun and challenging at the same time.

This term we did some art.Our art was of a nikau palm tree and we used all different colours. I used  blue, pink and purple and i painted the nikau palm with black paint. I'm not really proud of my work because I think I can do better but I tried. Here is a picture of my finished art work.

today we read chapter 16 and Bruno asked Gretel what the fens is there and they have eggs in there head.and i am enjoying this book.
